Life in India

Allyssa did a wonderful job playing with the twins,
teaching them funny songs, and being their "homeschool teacher."

We enjoyed spending time with the girls from the Emmanuel English School Hostel

Me and Indira!
(she had such a contagious laugh!)

Eating with our hands off of banana leaves !
(trust me it's an art :)

Working in India...

Through a whirlwind of events, the Lord opened up the opportunity for me to start teaching a number of people how to do the editing work that I have been doing. It was a real growing experience learning how to teach people who where much older than me and from another culture. I have now been able to work with the Chiru, Simte, Chakma, Paite, Manipuri, and Tenek.

The Footnote Marker Powwow!
Do you know on which side of a word the footnote marker is supposed to go? We thought we knew but after looking in a number of Bibles, consulting grammar books, and looking on-line, I have come to the conclusion that no one knows!

Brother Lal (Simte) and Pastor Peter (Chiru)

Consultant Seminar and Translator Training Workshop

I was asked to share at the Consultants Seminar the work that I am doing and the kinds of things that I am finding while doing the editing...
I was just a little nervous!

The Consultants, Linguists, two translators,
and our fabulous cook (Bethany)!

I was asked to take a session of the Translator Training Workshop to go over the rules for punctuation, capitalization, and basic text entry. Pray for these guys as they are just beginning their translation projects.

One Saturday we went for a ride down the Barak River

Me and Sunita

Dear Uncle Sana!

Happy Birthday Warren, Rowan, and Bethany!

We had to laugh when we thought of 5 year old Warren, in India, talking to his grandmother, in Venezuella, on his Birthday!

Happy 23rd Birthday Bethany!

The twins had a piƱata for their birthday!

Visiting the Tea Gardens and Factory

Uncle Sana was explaining to us how they pick the tea leaves...

Saying Goodbye :-(

Bethany and I had a wonderful time staying with Uncle Sana and Aunt Nancy. It was very hard to say goodbye. :-( We really appreciated their love and hospitality, they made us feel welcome and at home. They truly are like family!
